As a couple leading busy careers, two children (at the time), and everything that goes along with it, to say their lives were hectic would be an understatement. After becoming pregnant with their third child, Amanda knew it was time to make some big changes. She left her job to spend time with her children, and decided she was ready to open her own business soon after.She told her husband they would be opening a furniture store unlike anything in the area. As a previous superintendent, Shayne brought a another analytical mind to the team, making this a truly dynamic-duo!

Homenclature Valparaiso is re-opening it's doors Monday 5/4 with some new safety protocols. For the first few days, we ask that guests come in with masks. Our employees will also be wearing masks. Hand sanitizer will be available at the front door for all guests and throughout the store. We will practice social distancing.

The brainchild of Shayne and Amanda, this was created out of their love and knowledge for furniture. This collection of one-of-a-kind pieces has been given the name Irene Patrick, which happens to be the middle names of both Shayne and Amanda. These unique pieces came to form when Shayne and Amanda took a trip to India where upon Amanda was explaining to the owner of the factory why some of the pieces may need to be tweaked a little. He then asked her a very simple question: Will you do this for us and will you create your own line?
