Winter Woodworks

I am a resident of Coconut Grove and needed a door constructed for an outdoor entryway from my driveway to the house. I had not been satisfied with previous contractors or carpenters who had done mediocre work. I found Winter Woodworks on the internet and contacted the owner Mark Anthony who met with me and discussed my ideas. Because of his knowledge and experience I decided to move forward and engage him for the project.

It required design, purchase of teak wood which I wanted, construction, and installation. He incorporated my input into the design and helped facilitate my ideas into the creation. The door was complex and included the the addition of pieces of glass, and metal work for the door handle. Pictures are below. The door came out spectacularly and is a piece of art.

It is strong, and water, fungus and mold resistant - something needed for its environment. The success of this project led me to have him address a large heavy complex veranda (pictures below) that required removing abundant rot, replacing beams, adding support, and weatherizing the structure to prevent further deterioration. The final product was exceptional.

This was then followed by hiring him to redo outdoor cabinetry below an out door barbecue (pictures included). He designed and constructed the wood doors with bleached mahogany - it turned out in an excellent fashion. Lastly, he has great expertise in restoring and preserving wood furniture that is meant to be outdoors - looks better than new and survives the Miami sun and moisture.

Mark stays in continuous communication, explains decisions and strategy, is accountable, detailed, creative, and talented. He stands by his work overtime. As in any high quality project, it takes time and money, but is well worth it.

I recently did a consultation with Mark Anthony and found it very helpful. He came to my home, and took the time to answer all of my questions about potential projects, specifically window-related projects. He has a great track record, and is very knowledgeable. I was looking for a piece of furniture that combined the functionality of an ottoman with the practicality of a coffee table. I couldn't find one that wasn't hideous, so I designed one myself. I contacted Mark about building it and he did a fantastic job. It looks exactly like the renderings I provided. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again or recommend him to a friend.

We hired Mark to create some bookshelves in our living and dining area. When he finished the work, the shelves looked like they just belonged there! Truly perfect work!

I reached out to Mark and Winter Woodworks to create a circular coffee table and matching game table for my Colonial-style home. I was having a hard time finding anything that looked right for the look we were going for. I made a few drawings and discussed it with him. He made some revisions and I revised again. It was a very nice collaborative project with Mark guiding me through what was possible (and not possible) with the wood we had chosen.

The tables are a very nice addition to our living room and everyone always comments on how stunning they are! I'd like to think it was my design they appreciate, but its Mark's craftsmanship, experience, and attention to detail that make these great furniture pieces.

Mr. Anthony is truly a craftsman. He is honest and professional. I would recommend him to anyone. Deadlines were given and met. The best thing I like about working with him is that you eliminate the middle man a work directly with the artist. This way you save time and money. I wish I discovered him earlier.
