We believe the hardwoods of Wisconsin are among the most beautiful woods in the world and accent each other nicely when combined. Most of our wood originates in the urban landscapes of southern Wisconsin. Sawing these logs provides lumber with greater character and amazing size, much of which leave the mill as live edge lumber.
Our Team

Paul founded The Wood Cycle in 2001 after discovering his hobby was just as rewarding whether the end product would be enjoyed by himself or by others. Paul's woodworking skills are primarily self-taught, but was heavily inspired by several artists and craftsmen in his family; especially by his grandfather, a cabinet maker.

My wife and I bought an older home with the knowledge that we wanted to update the kitchen to include mission style cabinetry. The original kitchen cabinets were poorly laid out and did not make good use of the available space. In addition, the kitchen table and chairs took up most of the space in the small dinette area.

Diseased ash trees given new purpose Parnership promotes uses for wood from diseased trees. A partnership between the Madison Parks Division and Wisconsin Urban Wood, which The Wood Cycle is a part of is using urban wood for a purpose.
