My name is Andy. I am a woodworker and a craftsman. I have owned and operated a furniture business in Albuquerque, NM at the same location for over 40 years. I have to share credit of success with my customers - over the years, customers have spurred me on in product development. As a sole proprietor I have the opportunity and challenge of fully managing my business - I am my own bookkeeping, design and development, and marketing departments. My appreciation for wood started when I was growing up in Africa.
Entertainment centers pose the challenge of accommodating current technology and the way we spend our leisure time at home. These pieces of furniture need to be adaptable to rapidly changing technology and evolving family entertainment. I sometimes think of the TV as the family member who no one invited but showed up.
A custom bed is a piece of furniture with even more advantages over its store bought counter part than most. I had Andy reproduce a shelf from an antique China cabinet that was warped and cracked, which made it basically useless. He crafted a new shelf for me in just a few days time that was more than just a copy of the old shelf. The new shelf was a beautiful, improved version of the old shelf! The craftsmanship was amazing. I would heartily recommend having Andy do your woodworking needs.

I am so impressed with Watersong Custom Furniture. I was lucky enough to contract Andy to fix my large hutch (it was damaged during my move), create a new table top for my living room coffee table, and fasten wheels onto the table to make it roll effortlessly. Working with Andy was a 5-star experience from start to finish. He is a master at his craft, a true artist, and a very passionate person.
He was always considerate and made sure I was happy the entire way through the process! I sincerely look forward to contacting Andy about future projects! He was completely reasonable price-wise and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality workmanship!

We needed to install a built-in dishwasher to replace a portable that sat at the end of the kitchen counter, which meant we needed a cabinet for it. After looking at other custom cabinet makers, I chose Andy Monahan of Watersong Custom Furniture because his projects appeared to be more in line with our taste. As this took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, it took a little longer than we might have hoped but was well worth it.
The cabinet looks like it belongs with the rest of the kitchen. When we discussed what to put on top of the cabinet, we decided we wanted Mexican tile (we already have Mexican tile in a couple of places in the kitchen), so Andy put a raised rim on the top to frame the tile we'll install ourselves. We're very pleased.

I was looking for a woodworker to make a memorial bench to be placed in an elementary school library. It had to be made in two adjoining sections in order to match the strange wall angles and it had to complement the existing library furniture. When I met with Andy, I was very impressed by the beauty and quality of the furniture in his display area, his workshop, and after we talked and planned the project, by him.
His depth of knowledge and experience are very impressive. He is truly an incredibly talented and creative craftsman and artist and also an interesting person who is fun to work with. The bench turned out beautifully and is currently being enjoyed by the school children who love to curl up on it and read their books.

Andy is an old world craftsman. He has built 3 pieces of furniture for us and there will be more. He even came to our house after we moved out of New Mexico and made some adjustments to the bed he built for us after the movers hosed up the assembly following our move. He is welcome in our home as a friend as well as a fine furniture maker.

Andy does great work! He helped us with a custom cabinetry retrofit to install a new dishwasher in a space that never had one before. I called many different places and got no response, but Andy was up for the challenge and made our cabinet space with the dishwasher look original. He helped solve our problem and did a great job. Highly recommend giving Andy a call!

Andy is an exceptional woodworker and craftsman. He listens to your vision and provides valuable input. He pays attention to even the finest of details and the end result is simply awesome! He has made several things for us - a waterbed frame with bed-side tables, a desk and file cabinet, a coffee station cabinet - every piece custom-made by hand. And he includes delivery. Service and quality craftsmanship.what more could one ask for? He is definitely my go-to guy for wood furniture of any type!

Andy built me a pantry cabinet to help manage pots, pans, and canned food. The project was completed on time and budget and I'm very pleased. Andy does good work and his prices are fair. This is actually the 4th piece of furniture that Andy has built for me. My first pieces were completed in 1995 when he constructed and installed two built-in cabinets for my house and a small heavy-duty chest of drawers to hold compact discs. The built-in cabinets still look like new, and the chest of drawers has survived moves to Alaska, Europe, California, and DC.

I had a great experience with Andy of Watersong Furniture. I needed a cherry wood base to match an existing entertainment wall unit. The existing unit had been manufactured in North Carolina, and I wanted a matching piece to accommodate my new TV. Andy came to our house to take measurements and photos in order to match the stain, molding and style.
We had to wait 3 months due to Andy's prior customer projects, but we were and (still are) most pleased with the results. Andy's handmade base with 2 cabinet doors and fininshed shelves matches perfectly to the wall unit, only Andy's is better. The original unit had some wood veneer and particle board in the back. Andy built us a beautiful solid cherry wood cabinet, and he threw in some good conversation and carpenter tales for free!
