I recently had the pleasure of working with Joanna Hall. After visiting several local furniture stores and not finding what I was looking for, Joanna quickly understood exactly what I wanted and showed me several options. She was very knowledgeable and made selection suggestions I was delighted with. I truly appreciate her great customer service and will certainly recommend Sid's and Joanna to everyone. And I am happy to say I was able to purchase a couch made locally!

We have purchased several couches, a dining room set, comfy chairs from Sids over about 25 years. The quality has stood the test of time. The showroom is massive and the selection is good. We continue to look there first when we need furniture.

I went to this store for the first time last Friday and went back the following day with my husband. The selection of dining room tables is amazing. I picked out a beautiful table made by Simply Amish that was on sale. The price (though double my price range) was exactly what I wanted and is so well made that we'll have this table the rest of our lives.

The table was delivered this past Thursday (only five days after ordering it). The customer service was great. The gal that helped me both days was a little pushy and but she was very sweet showing what she would and wouldn't recommend. My husband and I are now the third generation in his family to have bought from Sids. They have all styles that fit everyone's wants/ needs. I have a feeling we'll be going back more often.

This is a two part review based one two visits. First visit receives 1 Star while the second visit gets 5. Ultimately 4 stars because my second visit was so great. The first time I visited this place in June, I was looking for a bookshelf. The female sales representative did not give me the time of day and was rude and dismissive when I asked questions.

She just pointed me in the direction of the bookshelves and walked away from me. So, I left and purchased a bookshelf at another furniture store. I considered not visiting SID's when shopping for a couch the other day. I even told myself that I'll just look and probably not buy because I really did not like my first experience; but the customer service on this trip changed my mind about the store.

The employee, Bruce, was wonderful! I told him what I needed and he was so knowledgeable on the products that would fit my needs. He took me around the store showing me different models, fabric swatches, and the different style features I can pick to customize the couch to my liking. Initially, I told him I wanted a more square armrest but after he observed how I sat and laid on the couches when I tested them out, he suggested an armrest style that would be more comfortable for my desire to lean my head against it.

It was suggestions like this that showed me he's not only just there to make money from me (which is just what any store employees ultimate goal is. I've worked retail) but he also appeared to care that I was satisfied with the product I wanted to buy. Since I really liked one of the models on the floor, I decided to buy it and they delivered it next day.

And bonus! It came with the nice pillows that I thought were only there for display. This surprise made me even more satisfied with my purchase. I think Bruce was a great combo of efficient salesman wanting to make a sale and also a man who was personable and respectful of my desires. If i had this same experience the first time I visited SID's, I'd have probably bought a bookshelf from them back in June.

That just goes to show the importance of customer service. Reading through a lot of the reviews, positive and negative, I see the reasons that this store has such mixed reviews since I had two extremely different experiences. I'll definitely go to SID's again and buy something if I have another Bruce-like experience; but I won't if I have another experience like the first one.

We had a great experience in the store. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating. We purchased a glider, told it would be delivered sometime over the next week, and left, happy as clams. However, calling a week later to ask about the chair, we were told there are no plans for the delivery and they do not know when it will be delivered. Alan was very dismissive when I called to ask about a delivery schedule. Obviously we didn't spend enough money to get quality post purchase customer service.

I was in shopping with my mother last Saturday, September 26, 2020 and I was being helped by Bruce. Very kind and helpful. I found the mission couch I was looking for and we ventured in to find coffee and end tables to match. When we went upstairs to look at leather couches there were two men being directed by a manager/owner to move some furniture.

The three were not wearing masks and the manager was dismissive and rude to both of the movers, Bruce and myself. Later when we came back down to the main floor the three were there clustered around a computer discussing moving furniture and still didn't have on masks. They were not social distanced and not wearing masks around each other, Bruce the sales staff not myself as a shopper.

I inquired with Bruce why they didn't wear masks. His statement spoke volumes. He said that they wear masks when there were people around. I believe my mother and I count as people, as would Bruce himself. I cannot shop somewhere that doesn't care for each other or their shoppers enough to wear masks while interacting with each other. If they behave like this in front of shoppers imagine how they treat each other when the public is not around. Im very disappointed and was more frustrated when we left that they have a large sign at the entrance to wear a mask.

I found tow other companies who are distributors of AJ's mission furniture and have no problem driving to get better service with a store who will take the mask precautions seriously. Saddened, Gretchen Rayburn

Spent thousands of dollars here, but they only care about customer service before you've completed your purchase, and you're nothing to them after. The couch, when delivered, was clearly defective, and my husband figured out what was wrong and it was easily fixed once the problem was identified. We then special ordered two beautiful chairs that also turned out to be defective and took weeks trying to fix/repair the chairs.

They were then deemed defective (at the time) by store associates. The chairs were returned to the store and we bought two more chairs to replace the defective chairs. The chairs did not fit the scale of the room. I immediately contacted the store manager and told him the problem. We came down to the store and picked out two larger chairs and were going to exchange these chairs for our current chairs.

The store manager was fine with the arrangement, but said he would have to talk to his boss first. After talking to his boss, his attitude changed completely and he became most unfriendly. He said they weren't going to exchange the chairs and then abruptly hung up on my husband. I expect a store manager to have better people skills than that. (That being said, Jeff and Joanna were excellent.) I will not be purchasing anything else from this store again and will certainly share my extremely disappointing experience with my friends and co-workers to spare them a similar situation.

Great and knowledgeable staff. Large selection of items as well, with ability to custom order pieces. These include a range of woods and stains to choose from. Staff is caring and thoughtful, and takes the time to help the customer get it right.

We purchased a sofa, love seat, two ottomans, two end tables and a glider and ottoman. Joanna was great as we made several trips to the store listening to what type of furniture would work for us in our space. We loved being able to customize our sofa and love seat from the fabrics to the type of cushions to the style of arms! Our sofas, end tables and glider all came from different companies and were delivered when they arrived and at times that worked for us! The free delivery was plus for us and a very reasonable price to hall away our old love seat and sofa was another plus.

Joanna is an amazing salesperson at Sid's! She guides you through all the different styles and customized pieces that can fit your space. She's been in furniture a long time, so she knows her stuff. Prices are a bit high here, but they do not sell any pressed board or particle board. All of their pieces last a lifetime and are worth saving money for.

Went in search of area rugs. Joanna was very knowledgeable and helpful in showing me their great selection of Karastan rugs. I was so impressed with their customer service, from first contact to home delivery two days later. And they priced matched, making me very happy, as I really wanted to buy in Salem! While awaiting "the paperwork", I looked around at their vast selection of furniture, lamps, and other decor items, and although I wasn't in the market at this point, it will be the first place I look when I am.

Just a great experience. My wife and I were shopping for a dining room table and their selections are the best in Salem. They have all price points to shop and we chose a higher end table and chair set with no pressure from the sales staff. The only thing is that I have to wait 75 days for the set to be made, which Sid's has no control over. Other than that I will be shopping at Sid's Home Furnishings again in the future.
