Services
When picking the right shed for you, there is another thing to think about; a site inspection. Site inspections happen after you choose a shed, and a Rick's Sheds inspector comes directly to you and where the shed will potentially be. The site inspector then determines whether or not the shed you chose is suitable for the space.
The purpose of a site inspection is to assess a customer's needs and site condition; this information would enable us to give an exact price quote for the installation of sheds, shed foundations, shed doors, gas logs, and gas fireplaces. While at the site we can also review any customer requests like removing an old shed from the property and provide pricing options.
Ricks Sheds has been in the Shed and Outdoor furniture business since 1980 and have been dedicated to providing the best service to our customers to achieve complete satisfaction. Ricks Sheds would like to help our customers out by providing a list of IMPORTANT information that can help you avoid any disagreement before purchasing our products.

Tried to purchase a garage from them. Went in on a Saturday afternoon, sat down with RJ and built the garage and got a quote. He advised that all sites must be inspected before delivery and that we could 1 of 2 things. Pay half of the garage today and the site inspection will happen before delivery. however, if the site inspection fails, you don't get a refund, only store credit which a 7k store credit would be insane.

The other option was to pay $50 for the inspection before ordering the garage and it must be done within 7-10 days.(We chose this option) It was done on day 7 per their scheduling availability. The guy came on Saturday to inspect, all went well. I called first thing Monday morning and RJ advised he needs to resubmit my quote to the office to make sure his numbers were right and this is when I knew the quote they gave wasn't a real figure.

My new quote ended up coming in $4k higher and he said it was due to price increases (in 1 week?) The way this place does business is wrong and they should give quotes that are good for longer than 1 day. What a waste of time!

Shed is great fast build and delivery but was told when first met with the salesman that they deliver on Saturdays, which the delivery scheduler refused to offer me. Spoke with the person for the site inspection listed my concerns for them for delivery was told no problems to deliver. Delivery guy expressed the same concerns as I did as they were unable to drive the truck and trailer through the gate and also told me they do Saturday deliveries.

There comes a time when the cost to fix a wooden shed, even a well built one, is just too expensive. This was the case with ours, and so I spent some time researching and comparing companies and offerings. Decided on Rick's based on a good friend's recommendation and a good deal on an early-season pre built shed. Online ordering was a bit uneven, I ordered and paid for the site inspection, then got an email advising I needed to pay for the site inspection.

A quick reply with receipt attached, then a bit of phone tag and the inspector came out. No problems, our shed is on a platform. We schedule delivery & pickup of our old shed. Pay deposit. Rain. Reschedule. Rain. Mid is not your friend. Finally a clear day! Delivery was very smooth, the guys were friendly and professional, and the shed is great. I would return, should I need something similar.

We ordered a shed from them. Shed was nicely built if it would of been the right product we ordered. They built the shed completely wrong, then proceeded to charge us a restock fee and return trip fee. They try to steal money from their customers. The salesperson made mistakes and they charged us because they cant do their job right. Buyer beware!

Heard back from Rick's Sheds and it appears that a lack of accountability is learned from the owner. The owner reached out and asked what could be done. When I gave my answer; the owner took the same stance as the employees. Asked a direct question and got a response of NO. Was given no further details or explanation. I relied non that answer to make my decision and it was not to my benefit I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. Buy here at your own risk!

Products all looked great, only saw them on line. Prices steep but not terrible until they sent me the list for options etc with a disclaimer(?) that said due to lumber prices add 40%. Yikes! What if it was on-site before wood went nuts? My guess it doesn't make a difference. Nice shed though.

I gave them a two star only for the quality of the shed otherwise I'd give them a one star. I purchased from them to try and support a small business. I will never purchase from them again. First off when you pay for a site inspection you expect there to be communication between that person and the sales person. This project ended up being very wrong and when I called and tried to explain, they placed all the blame on me and everything was my fault for what I purchased; the owner continually hinted at. So I caution you before you put your money out at this location purchase from somewhere else.

Sheds nice, left my property in terrible condition. I read and understand on my contract that they are not responsible for damage done to property after work is complete, but it doesnt mention that your yard will need $2000 worth of work to grade and seed it. There was absolutely no attempt to protect my yard by utilizing pads that are designed to protect. I wish I could post pictures. Feel free to find me on Facebook. Tim Kelly

I have never left a Google review and I am a big supporter of small businesses but after dealing with a ignorant and snippy sales women, I feel as though I need to write a review. One of my coworkers recommended Rick's for a shed. I initially contacted Rick's Shed to purchase a 12x20 shed with vinyl siding. I wanted the siding to match my house, so I asked the salesman on the phone if I could bring a piece of my house siding and compare it to the available colors in order to get the closest match.

The salesman informed me that one of the sheds on the lot had samples of siding and roofing. He was very nice and said that I could look through the sheds. My wife and I drove to Rick's. Due to Covid-19 they are not open to the public, but they have a phone number on the front door that you can call for assistance. After looking at their inventory, I could not find the samples of siding and roofing, so I called the number on the front door.

The sales woman that answered immediately gave me attitude and eventually told me that they do not have samples. Instead, she continued to give me attitude and inform they have a brochure with pictures of colors and to go online and look. I informed her that I was literally in the parking lot looking at sheds. Again, I informed her that I was on location and that if she directed me I could look myself?

That is when her snippy attitude continued. Needless to say, I am not giving someone $5,000 who is going to treat me like I am an inconvenience. I will be happy to take my business elsewhere.

My previous Rick's Shed lasted over 35 years until a tree falling on it required me to replace it. I bought one off the lot and was exactly what I wanted/needed. Delivery and placement was performed in a quick and professional manor without any lawn or "dings" to other property. The shed itself is rock solid and I am confident will last for a long time. Thanks AGAIN to Rick's Sheds.

Love Rick's Sheds! They make beautiful grave decorations for Christmas, and Rick is very nice! Prices are great. can't believe how much work goes into making some of that stuff for the price you pay. Will definitely be back!

Simply the best. Rick and staff are second to none! From the quote to the finish was exceptional. Work was completed on time and the result was perfect. This is the second shed that I've bought from them (I outgrew the first) and I can't express my satisfaction. Thanks Rick!

Don't go anywhere else for a shed or garage! Rick's service is second to none! Rick and his staff are very professional and helpful through the whole process of selecting, buying, installing the foundation and delivering the building. This being my second shed (I outgrew the first) from Rick and is a testimonial to my satisfaction with his services. When looking for a shed remember, Rick's sheds!

After two bad experiences I will be looking elsewhere for a shed. The first experience resulted in Rick's Sheds entering in my CC number wrong and therefore unable to collect payment for a site survey ($25) and rather than call me back they immediately sent a collection agency to get the money. The second experience was telling them I wanted to purchase a used shed they had in stock, they were suppose to send me an invoice but they recorded my email address and name wrong, then had computer issues, and once I finally got the invoice I was unable to pay as it was after hours and they are closed on Sunday.

I emailed them once they were open to say I will be in to sign the invoice and pay. They responded that they will see me later and then when I get there I find out they sold that shed already and I am just out of luck. If maybe they would communicate with each other or myself they would not have sold a shed which they already gave me an invoice (thereby in most eyes reserving for that customer).

To sum it up terrible communication, garbage customer service, and I am glad that I didn't end up purchasing the shed as I am sure the bullshit would have continued. Look elsewhere is my recommendation.

I ordered a trash shed. It's quite a nice looking unit and though we haven't used it yet it appears to be made well enough. It has a design flaw, though: the doors aren't wide enough to accommodate a 32-gallon container. You have to angle and jiggle it in, or lift the can in and out the top, which may not be a simple matter if it's full.

I called Rick's Shed and got the most peculiar response -- that they don't go by container size. Well, containers are, as far as I know, 32-, 45-, or 64 gallon, and it doesn't fit the latter two. The 32-gallon FITS once you get it in. But first one woman, and then a second one, just repeated that they don't know about trash can sizes, or openings.

I said I'd think it's something you'd know, if you make trash can sheds, and each of them would just repeat, with a kind of weary lack of interest, what they'd just said a moment before. I wasn't asking for compensation or to return the item, just giving feedback, because obviously you'd expect the doors to accommodate the thing it's made to hold inside, and I was left with the impression that they truly couldn't care less. It's not a total disaster but just based on the exchanges I'm not sure I'd be in a big rush to buy from them again.

You replaced an old gazebo roof with new cedar shakes. It was a very hot day but your workers took their time and did things carefully. I really love the results! Your guys were professional and knew what they were doing.

I am sharing my experience in hopes that other people see this before investing there hard earned money with these people. I recently spent around 4K with this business for a new shed. First let me begin when I went to the business it was early August 2018 and I saw the shed I was interested in. I basically went in the store and AJ I'm guessing he is the owner greeted me and assisted me with the showing of the shed?

Upon write up of the order we were discussing the options on the shed and the one item really stood out he (AJ) actually pointed it out and that was the 6' wide entry doors I also opted for the ramp which was also 6' wide. Everything seemed to go well so I gave my initial half down payment. Fast forward 2-3 weeks later the shed arrives at my house.

Upon initial inspection of the shed it was damaged by a tree branch on the way to my house. I pointed this out to the driver and he said oh we will fix it. I did not buy a damaged shed and should have refused it and told him just to take it back but I figured they are a reputable business and will do the right thing. So the 2 delivery guys start the process of setting the shed on the pad and all they did was argue the whole time directly in front of me (very unprofessional).

The shed was finally put in place then they were going to set the ramp in place but the couldn't because the ramp was to wide. Remember I paid for a 6' wide doors and a 6' wide ramp (the ramp was $135.00 by the way total rip-off for 50.00 worth of pressure treated wood). Guess what the ramp was 6' wide but the doors were 5' wide.

After realizing that the doors were only 5' wide when they should have been 6' I called and spoke to a Terry. I told her I just want what I paid for and some sort of compensation for the damage to my shed that was done by their delivery driver. She wanted to give me $23.00 for the ramp and $30.00 for the doors and zero compensation for the damage.

In my opinion this was a total joke and I told her that I felt this way and I said I was going to write a review about my experience and she just said ok whatever and didn't even care. What kind of customer satisfaction is that. I will never give another dollar of my money to Rick's Sheds ever again and I hope everyone that reads this considers taking there business elsewhere. Also I will be posting this review on every social media outlet I can find

Before purchasing at Rick's Utility Sheds, may I suggest that you first read my review? I am not what you would call a "reviewer". Actually, I probably reviewed less than five times in my whole life. But I felt compelled to make you aware of what I experienced when dealing with this store. Let me try to state the facts. - We ordered Finch furniture of over $9000 on 4/21 and Mr. E.F. as well as the owner were very helpful and friendly.

As a matter of fact, Mr. E.F. (the sales person) helped us to choose the right furniture even the store had just closed at 5 pm. (Note: My wife and I had spent the previous 2-3 hours looking at the furniture and then waiting for Mr. E.F. to free up as he was the individual who had helped us during an earlier visit.) - When I inquired if the furniture be delivered prior to Memorial Day, Mr. E.F. told us that we would get our furniture within 3-4 weeks but definitely before Memorial Day. - We called the store a few days before Memorial Day to inquire on the status of our delivery and were told by a female employee that nothing would be delivered sooner than 5-6 weeks from the date of ordering.

No apology was offered but simply that 3-4 weeks was unrealistic to begin with. - On 6/1, I called the store again and managed to talk to Mr. E.F. who informed me that he would reach out to Finch to inquire and would get back to me on 6/4. So far, so good. - Having not heard from Mr. E.F., I called the store again on 6/6 to inquire and left a message with a lady in the store as Mr. E.F. was busy with a customer.

I was told that Mr. E.F. would call back the same day. - Having not heard from Mr. E.F. by 3:30 pm on 6/6, I called and did manage to reach him. Here's how the conversation went with Mr. E.F.: He told me that he is not responsible for making sure that the delivery happens in a timely manner as they have a clear notice at the bottom of their invoice that the manufacturer will determine how fast furniture gets shipped.

He also told me that the warehouse would call me as soon as it is in. When I asked for a phone number of the warehouse, he told me that they cannot be reached. He also told me that he is the only person in Sales and that, rather than spending time with me on the phone, he could have supported other customers by now. He further told me that he actually did me a favor for staying after close on 4/21 as he could have easily left since he is not paid on commissions (somehow Mr. E.F. does not seem to fully grasp the fact that it is customers such as us that pay his salary and keep the lights on).

As I asked him why he did not call me back on Monday 6/4, he said that he cannot follow up on every single call as this is the busiest season of the year. Not once did Mr. E.F. apologize for the delay or the inconveniences but rather told me implicitly to sit tight and wait. In short, if you are looking for extraordinary customer experience, do not go to Rick's Utility Sheds.

While they have good quality furniture, they do seem to have a hard time dealing with a busy season! Buy your Finch from another more reputable place! To add, I decided to call Finch that very same day and found out that the furniture were actually delivered to Rick's! It's kind of funny to think that Mr. E.F. could have easily avoided this review by checking with his warehouse! But then again, that would have required someone who is focused on customer service excellence!

Horrible customer service, was looking at swing sets, there was a listed retail price that we were told we we get and when we sat down the price immediately went up by over $200. The sales people do not know their product and do not tell the truth even when the price is displayed in plain sight.

People are more likely to write reviews only when unhappy, so I wanted to take the time to relate a good experience. I recently bought a Shed and a gas fireplace to be installed in Aston. Ricks people were courteous and installation went smoothly. Helped me remove a section of Fence so they could get the shed in the back yard. No complaints about the gas fireplace either. I would recommend Rick's!

Bad experience! They backed into my brick wall causing structural damage and Rick said that the fine print in their contract that I signed states that they can do whatever (damage) they want and they are not responsible! Really? Is this the kind of company you want on your property?

Great customer service up to the moment they get your deposit. Once that happens, in my experience, sales people become rude and speak untruths. I'm glad they are in my rear view mirror and I would suggest you consider other options before giving them deposit money.

The product was excellent and has held up well. Our shed is in great shape after more than 10 years. The customer service is awful. We waited 3 weeks to hear back about a quote for moving the shed (after they had our 50 dollars already). The office staff was very abrupt and dismissive on the phone. They claimed to have called and emailed us during the 3 weeks but there were no messages in our voicemail and no emails in our inbox or junk filter or any of the other folders in our email.

To put the cherry on the sundae when we started to shop around for another company to do the move, the other company was 350 dollars cheaper, gave free estimates, called us back the same day, and was able to schedule us within a week of first contact. Great product no follow up after they have your money.

Wish I had read the Yelp reviews before heading over to Rick's. Poor customer service and a refusal to take responsibility for mistakes pretty much sums up my experience. We headed over to Rick's the Thursday before Memorial Day because we were in the market for a vinyl playset, and Rick's is an authorized distributor for Swing Kingdom. Emmett seemed very helpful as we walked through the three display models, and he told us that there was a 15% off sale going on through Memorial Day.

We took home a brochure and price list, chose a base model that was close to what we were looking for (around $3k), and picked out some additions to make the playset our own (around $1k). We then contacted Emmett on Saturday to tell him exactly what we wanted. He told us he wasn't sure they could fit some of our changes into the swingset, so he would have to call the manufacturer to confirm, but as long as we finalized everything by Monday, we would still get our 15% off.

We then didn't hear back from Emmett until Monday at 10:30 when he told us our changes were fine and emailed us a quote. This was the first time he also mentioned that we had to have everything finalized by 3pm that day, and not, as we had assumed, by the end of the day. He claimed the manufacturer required all orders to be submitted to them by 3pm (and he later mentioned that, conveniently, Rick's was also closing at 3pm that day).

This was a bit of a problem for us because we heading home from the beach when he told us this, and because we have two small children who would need to eat and be put down for naps when we got home. Here's where things got sketchy. When we were finally home and able to turn our attention to Emmett's email, we noticed that he had only applied the 15% discount to the base model playset and not our entire order.

That means we were received $0 discount off our $1000 in additions to the model. When we called Emmett to point out this apparent error, he told us for the first time that the discount only applied to base models and not to any additions. Once again, he blamed the manufacturer for this issue. When we pointed out that we would have gotten the bigger discount had he written up the order with a more expensive base model and simply removed the unwanted items (as opposed to the less expensive base model and adding items), he told us he didn't have time to re-write the order before 3pm, and anyway, Rick's was closing and he wasn't about to stay past 3 for us.

We asked why he couldn't simply call the manufacturer and tell them he has one final order that he needs to re-write, he had no answer, but did say he would contact the manufacturer the next day to see if they would still honor the price. Two days later without hearing from Emmett, we emailed him and he basically blamed us and the manufacturer (it was clear he hadn't bothered to try calling the manufacturer).

The whole ordeal was such a shame. Had Emmett been up front with us in the beginning as to the way in which the discount worked and the timing, or had he been willing to make a single phone call to the manufacturer to ensure he could send in an order late because of his error, we could have avoided the whole situation. Instead, he blamed everyone but himself, and Rick's has lost itself a customer.

We are now purchasing the playset from another distributor for roughly the same price. I suspect the owner of Rick's has no idea any of this happened, but evidently this is an ongoing problem at this establishment.

Terrible customer service. We wanted to replace our doors on two sheds with metal doors. Went into the office two times and discussed it with the salesman. They came out and measured. Gave us a quote. Two weeks later they replaced our doors with T-111, not the metal doors we ordered. Nowhere on the quote did it say they would be T-111. We spoke to customer service, the salesman, management - no one would do anything for us. They were extremely rude. Then they said if we wanted metal doors, we needed to pay over $1000 more. Never will use them again and would not recommend them at all.

Terrible experience! Awful customer service! Shed had wrong color shutters which they wouldn't correct without charging us. Said they would take old shed, but delivery guy said it wasn't in paper work and would be $400. They nickel and dime you in the end, and don't take responsibility for any problems that may happen. Will never recommend or use again.

I received a reply to my review from Fuchsia at Ricks Sheds. She stated "we are unable to provide cancellations on custom orders and inform every customer in writing at the time of purchase." First of all, in my review I said not allowing cancellations on custom sheds makes sense, but their should be an exception made when you provide terrible customer service throughout the process. Secondly, speaking of "informing every customer at the time of purchase" you DID NOT inform me that I'd be lied to and forgotten about once my deposit was paid. So what does Rick or Fuchsia have to say about that?

I had a shed "built to order" by Rick's Sheds and love my new shed. It has been over a year since I had the shed custom built and personalized exactly the way I wanted it. The service was great and the shed was finished sooner then originally scheduled. Ricks installed the foundation for my shed and the crew that dropped the shed off where very respectful.

I was very impressed that they treated my lawn as if it where there own, asking permission before driving all the way to the back of my yard and leaving my grass untouched. From start to finish I was extremely happy with my beautiful shed and recommend all my friends and family to Rick's Sheds. Thank you Ricks!
