Today Newell Hunt Furniture occupies the bricks and mortar structure of this turn of the "20th" century building. Our beginnings came into existence in 1946 by the hard work of a single man, Newell Hunt. He began his career of furniture employed at Puyallup Furniture located on Meridian twenty years earlier.

Establishing his own endeavor on West Stewart, Hunt molded and nurtured this building into over 16,000 square feet of showroom and warehouse facilities. Bringing in what was known as the "ultra modern" elevator to downtown, and still operates today.

We started working with Maren at Newell Hunt in early 2021. She has been such a pleasure to work with & we have ordered several things from furniture to rugs through her. She is very thorough & so helpful in design ideas. We love going to this store & we love the wonderful customer service that we have received from them. They have beautiful & unique things & I would recommend them to anyone if you are looking for quality items & personal customer service. So glad we got the opportunity to work with them.

Felt like they definitely should've stated that ALL SALES ARE FINAL. We got our couch and were very unhappy with the size of it in our space. I honestly though it wouldn't be a big deal because we bought the exact floor model. We were told that everything is custom ordered there because of how long it takes to replace something on the showroom floor right now.

I obviously should've read the fine print because it states that custom orders are non refundable. I'm just super disappointed about wasting my money on a very expensive couch that will sit in a room and not be used. Went to the Old Cannery and picked a new couch and made sure they had a good return policy. Lesson learned.

Wonderful store with great quality furniture and VERY competitive pricing. Maren is a sweetheart. Very knowledgeable interior designer that knows the product lines well too. She spent a lot of time with us to make the perfect choices that we are delighted with. We will definitely shop here for any future furniture or decorating needs.

My husband and I moved to the area due to military orders and wanted to purchase American-made products from a local establishment. This lead us to Newell Hunt which started out great but because of the poor management of our order and customer interaction we would not recommend purchasing from this establishment unless you enjoy being treated as though you are insignificant.

This was one of the worst big purchase customer service experiences we have ever had. We purchased our mattress from them and then proceeded to order a sectional and love seat. They were very polite during this process however, it seemed once they had our deposit they forgot about us. We were told 6-8weeks for the order to arrive and there would be contact if anything changed.

The love seat arrived in approximately 4weeks to which they said they would hold it until they got the sectional. 4weeks later we had not heard a word from them so we called and they informed us there was a delay in the sectional construction which lead to us not having furniture for Thanksgiving (week 9). When I informed the owner of the poor communication and added stress of not having furniture for the holiday she just made excuses for her staff members instead of excepting responsibility for the matter and proceeded to blame the manufacturers.

Our sectional finally was delivered on 7 Dec 2018 (week 11) and upon reviewing our payment statements they over charged us. When I requested a discount for the poor customer service we received, the owner assured me this is how they treat all their customers and would only offer me store credit.

Low selection and as soon as we walked in ready to buy the woman working said we looked lost rather than welcoming us in for the first time. Seemed like low inventory, overpriced and rude staff. Much rather go to the Cannery.
