Established in 1981, Michael McDunn Studios showroom and 4200 square feet workshop on the corner of North Main Greenville, SC have been exhibiting shows and producing heirloom quality and award winning furniture that can be found in homes and businesses across the upstate and nationally. I designed and created this desk using primarily cherry wood, beautifully-patterned cherry veneer, and maple as a secondary wood. To give the desk its own character and uniqueness, I used building techniques that include through mortise-and-tenon joinery and exposed dovetails.

The entire process of starting with an interesting piece of wood to creating a lovely, fine piece of furniture continues to inspire me and reveal new challenges. Working with wood, in all its forms, is a way of preserving and showcasing the material's versatility and extreme beauty. Michael McDunn started woodcarving in a serious way in 1974.
Michael McDunn has worked closely with many interior designers and craftsmen during his 30 years of professional woodworking experience, and is familiar with the styles of multiple periods and regions. Michael works closely with every client, advising on style, construction, finish, etc., assisting the client in best working their vision into a physical reality.
