Laytner's Linen And Home For over 50 years in NYC, the Laytner family has been selling the kind of sheets and towels that we want for our own home. To do this, we've cut out the middleman and have been making bedding and bath for some of the most demanding and loyal customers. We know quality starts with the thread. We know the way quality thread is woven determines luxury. Free Shipping on orders $98 or more, before taxes and after all discounts have been taken.
Services
We weave our Sateen sheet sets with extremely fine long staple cotton, producing a sheet set that is soft and smooth to the touch. The tight weave produces a signature sheen that says style, elegance and comfort.
Our 400 thread count, 100% cotton Sateen printed sheet sets are soft and smooth to the touch. By using a printing method that guarantees a high saturation of color, our printed sheet sets achieve a clarity that is surpassed only by their comfort.
We weave our 300 thread count Percale sheet sets by using extra fine cotton yarns, laying one warp thread over one weft thread in a one to one ratio. This produces a very fine Percale fabric that is crisp and cool to the touch with a matte finish.
Our linen sheets are literally the cream of the crop. Crafted from the environmentally friendly Belgian flax plant, these sheets are durable, breathable, cool to the touch and grow softer with every wash. Perfect for all weather with a never-pill construction, they are worth every cent.

There is a nice sale going on right now for down comforters. The staff is very knowledgeable, they have quality sheet sets and duvets that won't break the bank. It's an old school UWS place on an old school stretch of Broadway-- first my mother shopped here and now I do. But don't be misled-- there are modern options -- it's not just lace and toile! They are even known to deliver.

Laytner's Linen and Home holds lots of memories for me both here in this store and the one that closed recently on the Upper East Side. When I moved to Manhattan this was the store for my household needs. I still buy laundry items, sheets, throw rugs and bathroom merchandise from here. I'm so glad the Upper West Side Location is still open.

With all the big box stores competing for their business I found the customer service has improved drastically. I never had a problem before. I usually find what I need as the store is organized so it's easy to navigate. The size of the space focuses on their specialty. Now and then I find seasonal items that are good to have like hats and scarves. I am definitely recommending Laytner's. I love this store. It's got a long history. Please shop these historic businesses. Their sales are excellent!

I found a bargain bag with a fitted sheet and two pillow cases. Unfortunately, when I got it home I realized there was only one pillow case. I phoned them and then brought it back this morning. They could not have been nicer, taking the time to look around to find a replacement pillow case. When that didn't work, they gave me a new pack of two cases, and wouldn't take money for it.

For years I bought all my linens and lots of gifts at their east side location, and even now it's worth the bus trip to the west side. I'm glad they've been able to stay on a monthly lease. Hopefully they'll be able to find another location. It's a wonderful store with very nice, helpful staff.

The best! This place is a goldmine. I'm so sad it's going to leave in a couple of months. My fiance and I got wonderful linen sheets from here, so I brought a friend the other day to show her the great selection they have and I found lovely Turkish towels that I'm going back for next week! GREAT neighborhood gem!

I love this shop! I called them from the Hudson Valley on a Monday, spoke to the caring manager who helped me select a set of decent sheets, and they arrived via UPS the next day!

This store is a lovely stop. Prices are great and very nice selection. Customer service is amazing. My doctors office moved to 84th street and this was an amazing find. If you are in the neighborhood definitely stop here for some beautiful linens and home goods.

I go there whenever I'm in the neighborhoods. There are 2 stores I know of: one on East 86th Street and the other on Broadway near 83rd Street. They are on a month-to-month lease in both places. It's where I buy all my linens and things. Let's keep small businesses in business in this City. Please!

I've lived on the UWS for 30 years and have shopped at Laytners dozens of times. Years ago, it was great but ever since Patrick was named the manager, I've been made to feel like a criminal. Whenever I walk into this store, I am followed and/or questioned by this man. This past Saturday was the last straw. As soon as we walked in, Patrick followed us.

I said to my wife that when we move, he will move with us, regardless if someone enters the store. I purposely walked towards the other end of the store and sure enough, he followed us. I asked him why he always feels the need to profile me and his response was incredible. He said "you're too sensitive and haven't you heard of Cyber Monday?" I told him he was watching us because we are Hispanic and he then cursed at me. AND cyber monday is online! Awful customer service!

Excellent customer service and a wonderful experience all around. I am sad to see a for rent sign on their window. A lovely lady helped me find a beautiful king size sheet set today. The UWS location did not have it in stock and the lovely lady called the UES and they will ship it to the UWS for me! Lovely products good quality and classic bedding! I really hope this place stays in the neighborhood. I purchased a quilt from laytners and it's still standing ten years later! Thank you ladies for your help.

Left more money here than I intended because of the great customer service and professional help. Good selection of home basics, pretty good pricing and quality. Bamboo green tech bedding which is cool and better for the environment.

I am a frequent NYC visitor and, over the years, shopping in this unique store has become part of my routine. My most recent visits to the Upper West Side store in October and November 2016 have been somewhat disappointing due to the unfriendly, sometimes rude staff. I am always impressed my their holiday displays and a dried flower Christmas arrangement caught my eye during my Black Friday visit.

When I asked about the getting the various components of this arrangement, the woman who reportedly designed it was not the least bit interested in helping me find the necessary items displayed in other parts of the store. There was one younger woman who helped me gather some of the items, but overall the experience was a downer. I like this store, but strongly recommend an attitude adjustment for some of the staff.

The woman at the cash register is very condescending and rude. She should not be in any client facing role. I don't step into that store anymore.

This is a great store if you're shopping for sheets, duvets, bath mats, etc. I find living in NYC, that some of the basic stuff can be ridiculously priced. like bath mats. I'm able to find what I need here at incredible prices. I recently bought several bath mats to match my bathroom. Also, pure linen sheets for this hot, humid weather -- are very expensive on Amazon but I found them here for half the price.

The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Here's a tip. Sign up for their newsletter and get a coupon for 20% off an item. I could have used that for my linen sheet set!

A bit chaotic but they have some great sales! Currently a blow out sale and I got all new designer linens and pillows for about $200!

Great place! I just moved to UWS and was able to get many things I needed - sheets, ironing board, pillows, blanket, even some bathroom stuff. Prices were good. Also, they sell the same candles you see at Anthropology for $19! What a steal!

I've been shopping here for 30 years. They have the rudest staff on the Upper West Side. Cash register staff don't know what service means. Their own agendas are more important than serving customers. They recently downsized but the service has not improved with a smaller store. They do have some nice things -- candles, towels and sheets, bathroom stuff and some kitchen stuff, etc -- very nice. But paying for the nice things is rarely efficient, and you do not get any kind of welcome or thanks.

I tend to get linen and bedding online usually, but this is a great place if you need something in a pinch. Their selection is decent for a local shop, but a bit on the pricey side compared to online stores. You really do do have to pick your purchases wisely, because if you don't know your prices you may wind up paying way too much. Like a lot of people I love to support local stores, so I do try to patronize Laytner's whenever I can. Four stars.

Holy crap this place is already loaded up on Christmas decorations! And it's not even Thanksgiving yet! AHHHHHHHHHH! We were on the UWS the other day and dropped in to look for a gift. Nice selection of housewares, bedding, bathroom rugs, shower curtains, seasonal stuff. Kind of like a mini Bed Bath & Beyond. Sometimes you can find just what you want, sometimes not, but usually has some nice inventory here.

Can be a bit pricey, so look for the occasional sales on pillows, comforters, and towels as they are good bargains for quality stuff. Nice set up and displays. Staff is pretty helpful too.

This is a great local find. I walked by during a sale, and many of their linens and sheet sets were reasonably priced. I wanted to pick up an extra set of towels for a guest, and found exactly what I needed. I often frequent BBB (Bed Bath &Beyond) out of convenience, but am glad to found such a great local store with very competitive prices. You can pick up anything from beach towels, sheets, table mats, and picnic bags.

One slight complaint: I visited this store once a day for 3 days straight, picking up yet-another-item-I-forgot. After approaching a worker asking if they had an item in another colour, a sales worker told she would set them behind the counter to "help me" (even though I had been in the store for 45 min holding a bunch of items & was almost ready to pay & leave).

The sales woman grabbed my items, walked away ordered another younger worker to go downstairs and look, then walked away again which I found slightly rude. I thought it quite odd & got the impression the sales lady thought I was going to steal something. I wish I didn't have to write about this as my first two visits were perfectly normal. I was 100% ready to complete my 5 star glowing yelp review of a local establishment, when I had this experience. Afterwards: 3 stars. It's worth coming back for the high quality linens and sales

I am still in NYC on the West End. Taking a break from Fashion Week. I notice this store display a large NYC block near the West End of NYC. Got t my eye. The hours were late nothing you find in Boston. Open on Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm a great find. Also they deliver and ship their items a plus. The sales person notice that I need d help due to that I was going back and forth on a bed mattress slip cover.

I thought this was a waist of money, but she prove me wrong. Explain in detail why I needed one and which one would work for me. I knew I need one and wanted to save my mattess. I need asssurance why and she went into detali without going over board. She did not push me at all. Let me think about it and if I needed her help to ask for her when I did.

I decide on two ask for her and she explain again which one would work for me. Even thougt it took 45 mins, she did not give up on me I not only bought the mattress cover but a pillow for my lover and a few more items for my bed from candles, soap, etc. I will be goin back when i return to NYC, and I even join ther mailing list.

Wait for a sale. They have a bedding sale at least twice a year, same with the towels. They also have furniture sales, but not with the same amount of frequency. The furniture in this store is nice quality and I find that it's smaller than the stuff you find at the Pottery barn etc. The staff can be pushy because they get commission but they can also be really helpful in finding you the right option for your place. I would pick this place over bed bath and beyond for linens. It's worth a trip when you need to stock up and OH yeah, there is a sale.
