La Place USA Furniture was founded in 1998 by Maria and Hendrik Engel. Both from Europe, they decided to mesh their backgrounds. Maria, from rural Netherlands, and Hendrik, from Amsterdam, worked together to combine chic farmhouse and slick modern tastes to create our timeless pieces. They pursued the American dream and left everything behind for small town: Fairhope, Alabama.
Freight shipping is available to most physical addresses in the U.S. (for HI and AK-please contact us for rates and availability). The freight carrier will contact you, typically 24 hours in advance, to schedule the delivery appointment. Someone will need to be on hand to meet the driver, inspect the shipment and sign for the package.
Only the highest quality materials are used. These include brass, stainless steel and, of course, the highest grade of teakwood available. Genuine Teak (Tectona Grandis) combines the quality of a rich and pleasing appearance with a durability that is unequaled by any other timber. Teak is a dense, coarse, close-grained hardwood.

I ordered the sheesham chairs; deliver was fast & packaging was ample to keep them safe. These chairs have a great weight too them & are VERY well made. Thick pieces of wood of different shades & grain/patterns make each chair a very unique & special piece. The seats aren't sculpted (they're flat) so you may want to get seat cushions. The finish is very nice satin sheen.

I bought the Suar Bar table for $1240.00,T he customer service by Clint was responsive in the beginning, after he got the money and I got the table which had an overlooked factory defect ( wood splitted on the edge of the foot rest bar that transverses across the table) I called and sent the pics about it and everything turn out 180*,h e was the one getting mad and defensive instead of me, telling me that he would give me some "pointers" how to fix it by myself, everything else was up to his discretion. Im not paying brand new price to just fix it myself as broken.
I have to dealt with somebody else, I was promised to get the materials and tools sent via Fedex by next week, that never happened. Terrible experience. I would recommend not to buy from them, in addition to my surprise the offer a ( 1 year warranty ) when I claimed my warranty rights after a week of delivery, they claimed the warranty is up to his discretion, so that doesn't exist as they offer, NOW YOU ARE AWARE. disputing my money.

Had an issue with a product flaw and receiving the wrong color base for our umbrella. Contacted GM Mr. Clint via phone and sent email with pics and had the both issues resolved in 24 hours. Extremely pleased with the handling of the customer service and knowing the manufacture stands behind their product.

We purchased 6 teak chairs, a table, and a side table early last year (2017) for approximately $2000. Within a few months, the backs of 2 chairs had come off. A few months later, the back of a third chair came off. Same story with 2 more chairs as we close out 2018. These chairs are poorly made and do not last. We brought this to the attention of the store owner or manager when the first two chairs broke, but she refused to assist claiming the chair damage was the result of misuse. With five of six chairs failing within eighteen months, I have to disagree. Do not buy teak furniture at this place of business!

My wife and I have shopped here for over a year and will continue to go back to add pieces of furniture and accessories to our home. All their items are top quality teak or mahogany and they are fairly priced. The also have a large selection of one of a kind ocean inspired teak carvings. We picked up a piece in Gulf Shores for $495 and found the same item for $198 and it was solid teak vs driftwood.
The service there is also great, they are very helpful and are not pushy at all. I bought a glass top driftwood dining room table from them and receive compliments from everyone who see it. They deliver fast, usually the same day. The also have a small truck you can borrow to take your purchases home should they not fit in your car and it's FREE. You need to check this place out when buying furniture.

What an unexpected surprise in south Alabama?!?! Normally you see beach/condo furniture or American Country style all throughout the southeast so when I walked into La Place I felt intrigued and excited. I love indonesian design and furnishings so I was right at home. The selection is large and the prices are very fair. All of the items are teak or mahogany and handmade.
They can do custom pieces as well. The nice thing about the Foley location is that the warehouse is located here so there is little to no wait for instock items. For those of you needing teak outdoor furniture I think they have the largest selection along the gulf coast! Stop by and check them out - you won't be disappointed!
