Services
Since 1982, The Joinery has created handcrafted furniture that's here for good. That is a reference to the level of craftsmanship, with each piece expected to last decades if not generations. It's also a reference to how we do business - a certified B Corp since 2010, we operate with a deep commitment to our employees, environmental performance and community engagement.
The Joinery creates beautiful, quality wood furniture of modern and classic design. Our in-house design team meticulously develops each piece to ensure it meets our standard for design and quality. Each piece of our residential furniture is wholly built by a single woodworker, creating a strong sense of pride and ownership from all on our team.
At a time when new residential furniture frequently ends up in a landfill within a decade, The Joinery stands by our lifetime warranty. And even that understates its true life expectancy - we intend for our products to have a longer lifespan than the trees from which they originate. You can fully expect our handcrafted furniture to be enjoyed for generations to come.
Through our environmental, social and labor practices, we are committed to using our business model to make a positive impact in our community. The Joinery is recognized for its extensive commitment to sustainable business practices. We have been a certified Certified B Corporation since 2010 and have been a regular among B Corp's "Best for the Environment List" as well as Oregon Business Magazine's 100 Best Green Workplaces in Oregon. The quality of our craft may be our single greatest environmental contribution.

We have bought several pieces of furniture from The Joinery and have been so pleased with them all. Also, if something isn't quite right they fix it! I highly recommend The Joinery for their beautiful quality furniture as well as their outstanding customer service.

We invested in excellence. This is a locally owned, custom built furniture store. I can't emphasize enough the quality. The wood is exceptional and they aren't pretentious. It is an exceptional place.

The Joinery made me a fantastic bench. I worked with Cassandra and her team, and they completely realized my vision for the piece. In fact, Cassandra went out of her way to pick the lumber for it and walk me through the selection. It was an education in carpentry that makes the experience all the more meaningful.

A very nice place, beautiful furniture, and exceptional customer service. They are hosting a silent auction to benefit Rex Putnam arch & design students.

After several weeks, The Joinery found my review and has issued me a refund. Cassandra was very nice in a message, then an email, and on the phone. The furniture is beautiful and I am sorry not to give a perfect five stars (though I nearly dropped to three stars), but I am still leery of special ordering. Certainly I would not set up delivery until I had seen the completed piece. because I really do want a round madrone table.

We love this place! We have been customers for years and we have never been disappointed. Their furniture is gorgeous and absolutely stunning and their customer service is great. We are going to purchase even more pieces from them because, quite simply, The Joinery is the BEST! They have a store on Yamhill but I prefer their Woodstock location.

Artisan woodworkers create heirloom furniture from locally sourced sustainable wood. When only the best will do. Since 1982, The Joinery has been creating heirloom-quality modern and traditional furniture -- or custom-made furniture. Each piece is built by a single woodworker from solid hardwood. The Joinery is a Certified B Corporation, assuring sustainable business practices are followed. Get started in the ground-level showroom, then check out the upstairs.

This is an incredible business. I love their committed to sustainability, their quality of product, and their role in the community. As a designer, I appreciate that I can send my clients here to purchase heirloom quality furniture, and feel confident that the craftsmanship will be flawless every single time. I have even had some custom pieces designed and they were just as exceptional as anything from the standard line.

Fantastic furniture and functional art store with classically sleek one-of-a-kind Made in Oregon wood pieces! They have everything from beds to wooden legals to chess sets to building blocks. The best part is, you have the ability to look into their woodshop, which is massive. Note: Not sure if the second floor is wheelchair accessible (I didn't see an elevator). And the front door has a large step in front. They ship across the U.S and don't charge state sales tax.

Nice wood. Well polished. Stiff boards. Bought a bed. It is nice. Delivery was perfect. They also set it up and put the mattress in place. Waxed the joints and stuff.

Awful customer service. People working here have so much attitude it's not even funny. I went in to look around and got nothing but uppity attitude. I actually left in disgust. Get the F over it. you're a clerk that works in a shop. Ridiculously overpriced furniture the types of which you can easily get anywhere else. even at very pricey stores, for 1/4 the price. Seriously? $8,000 for a sofa? Not worth it at all. This place is for rich douchebags that have nothing else to do with their money than throw it away.

Heirloom quality furniture and classic styling makes the Joinery a great spot to visit. With a beautiful showroom and a view of the shop where everything is built, it's one of my favorite shopping experiences. As others have mentioned, superb products don't come cheap, but having an investment that will bring you joy every day makes The Joinery well worth a trip from anywhere. A side benefit is the amazing pupusas at the Anthology Salvadoran food cart outside.

Bought an amazing desk, custom piece & end table which I've enjoyed for over twenty years. The beauty & craftsmanship brings happiness every day. Worth the investment. Custom piece turned out just like we had discussed in the design phase. You will thank yourself every day for adding any piece into your home.

We had a wonderful experience here from start to finish. After seeing their downtown showroom, we came here to finalize our order, see the work area, and choose our lumber. The customer service is excellent and the furniture is absolutely gorgeous. The prices are totally fair when you understand the craftsmanship and care put into each piece. We hope to order more from The Joinery in the future.

Ordered several items over the last dozen or so years, always enjoyed great service in the storefront and the craftsmanship and design in my house. If you're willing to wait a few weeks for your furniture, I'm not sure there's a better place in Portland if you like furniture that's Arts & Crafts/Mission influenced. The elephant in the room is the upfront cost of the furniture- yes, it's expensive, but on the other hand, you aren't likely to have to replace it due to wear and tear any time soon.

Everything is beautiful here. We were working with them to design a table for us. A friend suggested we visit a couple other places. We ended up having ecoPDX build the same table for us out of salvaged wood. We saved about 40% going with them but I will be back to The Joinery as one of the places we will shop when we need furniture.

Yesterday I had a tour of the joinery and it was fantastic! The craftsmanship is exceptional and the people who work there were great. They even sent me back with some sample finishing oil and wax to put on my existing furniture. I'm dying to buy one of those coffee tables!

Our first visit to the store and we were blown away by the quality of the furniture. It is a bit on the pricey side, but hey you are getting heirloom quality furniture. If you want furniture that will last and you can pass down to your children this is the place for you. Many of the smaller items are pure eye candy. The boxes are so beautiful. We came home with a delicately balanced clock that is a work of art.

Next time we need a piece of furniture, we won't hesitate to revisit this wonderful store. And the staff are so helpful without being intrusive. Thanks for an A+++ shopping experience.

Horrible customer service! You would think that if you are trying to sell expensive amish furniture you would be helpful and listen to the customer, instead of making smart-@&$ comments. They guaranteed I will never spend a $ there and I will go out of my way to ensure people I know don't either. Watch out for the troll with short lopsided Lego hair.

I've been buying furniture from The Joinery for over twenty years now. Their pieces are exquisitely crafted and built with pride. Every piece is signed by the craftsman who built it and they will stand behind their work if you ever need to get it repaired. The prices may seem high but consider that you will own it for your lifetime and that it will probably outlast you.

Their designs have this timeless quality that transcends style and fashion. For instance, I bought my dining table and set of dining chairs ten years apart but that gap is not at all visually evident. I can't recommend The Joinery highly enough. I wish every business out there operated with the same level of commitment, pride and competence as they do.

It's obvious that this place has the highest standards for materials and workmanship, no dispute there. This isn't Crazy Bob's furniture liquidators, the pieces they sell are truly meant to last a lifetime obviously, so I should see it as a lifetime investment I suppose. They are also entitled to charge a fair price for their gorgeous and sturdy pieces which no doubt take a ton of skill, time craftsmanship.

Still I couldn't help leaving this place somewhat stunned by the jaw dropping price tags. I have in the past spent over 2k on a high quality dresser that I knew I would keep forever. Call me a rube but I had no idea of the kind of price point we were looking at here, $4500 dressers, $1500 night stands and you can fill in the blanks for the rest. Bottom line, if I could I would, but I can't.

If I had an endless budget for adding quality pieces to my home this would be the only place I would need to go. I am currently saving my pennies for their pirouette end tables! They make all the pieces on site from certified, sustainable or reclaimed wood and you can choose from their large range of designs (from Mission to Shaker to Modern) or work with them to create your own.

The showroom people really know their furniture and are always kind and welcoming when I come by to stalk my future purchases. They also have an awesome range of home accessories from companies like Roost, Dwell Studio and Jonathan Adler. Definitely worth the trip to Woodstock!

A little bit of Arts and Crafts right in the heart of Woodstock. This furniture/home goods store is a haven for wood lovers. I recently visited it and was very impressed by the overall feel of the store, and their products. While their pieces are expensive, they are all made right in the shop, you can even go up to the 2nd floor to see the artists in action, and they are unique and special heirloom quality. A special place for a special find.
