Godwin's was founded by Gethin and George Godwin, two Welsh brothers who left the coal fields of Wales to pursue a better life in the United States. In 1948, they purchased a modest grocery store at the location of the Saginaw store. Over the years, the family watched Saginaw Township grow out and around the store.

I went into Godwin's looking for lazy boy chairs. I was followed from the front door to the back of the showroom back to the front door. It was extremely irritating and very demeaning. It was a woman that followed me all around the store she pretended to fix furniture signs following close enough to let me know she was watching me but far enough not to ask did I need her assistance. I felt my business was unwanted she just wanted me out! I did take the hint and kept my money in my purse and walked out.not a place I want or will visit again!

Staff is always very helpful. The furniture here cost more than a box store and for very good reason. You will buy stuff here that will last 20 years plus. I love the sets they have here. I have bought two beds, a couch and a lot of other items. Had one item break. Called them and they made it right!

This was our first purchase from Godwin's and our experience from the time we entered the store to delivery of our purchased sofa, loveseat, and cocktail table was first class. Karen from the Flint store was extremely helpful and their delivery guys were top notch. It was nice not to be high pressured and during these crazy times where you have to wait up to 6 months to get your furniture, all the items we wanted were in stock. When we need more furniture this will be our first stop

I recently purchased a sectional, bed frame and mattress from the store. They delivered and assembled them today. I am very happy with the service, pricing and delivery. Delivery guys got to the house early, were super nice and got everything done very quickly. The sales woman at the store was very nice and very easy to work with. Excellent experience

Really disappointed in this furniture store. Bought a sofa and they delivered the sofa but it was the wrong color. Called sales gal and was ignored all day. They made no effort to satisfy the customer. I will never shop there nor recommend anyone to shop there. If there was 1/4 of a star that's all they would get
