It is my belief that when things look nice and work well they are of great value. To maximize that value I ask that you think of Delia like a bespoke clothier. You can buy straight from the catalogue or choose from a selection of materials and I will build it to fit. Furniture, like clothing, works best when it is tailored. The photo is of my Great Grandmother Delia taken on the family farm in northern Wisconsin.

Is this still open? Is there a showroom or just online? Gate is closed. For sale sign on building. Doesn't look like anyone is there on a Thursday at 12:30.

We wanted a solid, beautiful bed custom designed to meet our storage needs. Chris listened to what we wanted and went through each detail to make sure he understand our vision. It turned out exactly how we wanted. We LOVE this bed! It will last our lifetime and was well worth the cost, which was actually very reasonable considering the craftsmanship and time Chris put into it to make it perfect.

We plan on having Chris make custom bedside tables for us as well. I also appreciate that he knows his skill limits and is very honest about what he can and can't do. I would highly recommend asking Chris to make a bed for you. You can trust him to do a good job on your project.

I wanted a modern and beautiful bed that I could pass on to my children. It needed to be something that our pets couldn't ruin. We had a sizable budget- $3000. We started our search at Hive Modern. We went to DWR. And then l thought that maybe I'd find a local designer. We found Delia furniture.nI like the idea of having a local designer make our bed- keeping our money in the community, supporting people directly.

We went to Delia, and met with Chris. He showed us around. I wanted an interesting wood for the headboard. Chris was open to that idea. We needed the bed to fit under a low bank of windows. A custom bed was in order. We talked through the details. And then he designed an early century bed for us. Chris is a conscientious designer, with a good eye for proportion.

He sketched out our bed. The original sample of wood was much darker and redder than the wood that Chris was able to obtain, so he contacted me to ensure that it was still what we wanted. He chose some gorgeous lumber and finished the bed a week ahead of schedule. The bed is a solid steel and bloodwood beauty. The plywood that holds up the mattress is finished maple.

The only people who would see that are the people putting the mattress in place. When we first left the Delia studio, my partner turned to me and said, "That guy doesn't charge enough for his beds." And even though we paid $1500 for it, I think he's right. I want to get a custom desk from Delia next, and then possibly a console table, and then who knows, but odds are, our house is going to slowly fill with furniture from Delia.
