Cheap Vintage / Alternatives was established with a philosophy of finding a niche that was not your typical antique or thrift store. Our stores are not Showrooms and our goal is to provide quality used furniture, that includes antiques. We think our biggest product is the surprise element of our stores. You never know what to expect. One of the most common questions of our customers is: Where do you find this stuff? Our answer is simple, when you are fair and honest with your customers, word of mouth becomes your most valuable and effective marketing tool.

First off I have to say I was shocked and saddened to hear about Donna's passing. She was the sweetest lady. Well liked/ loved by the neighborhood. I hope you're resting well with the other angels Donna.

Just as straightforward as the name of this store, this place is chock full of oldies but goodies. Lots of European pieces displayed and unique antiques, plus most interesting, a talking parrot in the back patio! It's quite comical to hear the parrot saying hello to you and stating his name. I was looking for unique nostalgic art to hang in my entryway.

I did spy a pretty painting and will consider it later. The owner was very welcoming and took the time to show me pieces throughout his store. Definitely recommend as there are definitely some unique items to look at. Prices seem reasonable. Street parking.

Lots and lots of furniture and fun table top items. The prices were expensive, but we had fun meeting Mr Boot's the black and white senior cat who lives in the store!

I've been shopping here since I moved to the area five years ago. Got my desk, sofa, entertainment center and dresser here. Always a pleasure to chat with Donna and visit the kitties Mr Gray and Boots. Great mix of fine vintage pieces and less pricey functional well made stuff. Check it out, reasonable prices and very friendly service.

Nice place, however it's not cheap at all. Needs to change the name. Top dollar. Beautiful pieces.

This spot is def a hidden gem! If you're looking for a true vintage store that's full of soul, this is it. The owners Sherrie and Russ are friendly and great to work with! They have all kinds of interesting items around every corner. This is not the type of store where the displays are overly manicured or every item is fixed up. I think that's great because I like vintage items that are unique, quirky, and are in varying conditions. Prices are really fair for the types of items you'll find here - they have some great stuff! I'll definitely be back!

The owners a sweetheart and it is definitely an adventure walking in her little store and more so outside, and if you're looking for a file cabinet- look no further, there is a sanctuary of file cabinets outside in the storage area that they have outside of the business! And inside the store it's a treasure hunt, filled with tons and tons of goodies that if you blink you'll miss! I ended up purchasing a princess Diana 1997 commemorative tribute plate :(. And a Jesus button for my daughter:) They have another store in San Pedro check them out!

While the owners are very nice, I was disappointed by my purchase here. I bought a filing cabinet, which they had powder coated for me. The filing cabinet seemed in excellent condition when I looked at it. But after the powder coating, it had big dent in the side and overspray on the lock/handles. So now, instead of being in the room where it was supposed to, I have to hide my $250 purchase in a closet. I was most disappointed in the big dent. I never would have paid that much for a filing cabinet with such a dent in it. Extremely disappointing.

So I don't usually post about dealing with horrible customer service but today I feel like it is necessary. My grandmother purchased what she thought was a cute little desk and chair from Cheap Vintage. She purchased the chair and desk a little over a month ago for My sons birthday and had it delivered to her house 2 weeks ago. We then brought it home over the weekend and after taking all of the plastic off that it was wrapped in I noticed it was not quite as nice of a desk as my grandma had thought.

The desk is supposed to be a solid birch wood desk. It has paint splatters, unfinished stain, crooked and different colored screws, unfinished sanding, and definitely isn't solid wood. Then the chair had a crappy paint job with chips and messed up spots and already has rust all over the metal frame. The worst part is my grandma paid $350 for the desk and chair plus they charged her $40 delivery.

I called the guy today to discuss the disappointment about the desk and chair to see if maybe we could make the situation right. And as soon as I mentioned the issues listed above he went straight to being rude and defensive saying I was criticizing his craftsmanship and told me I should go buy a desk from Ikea for $100 that will fall apart on me.

This desk is going to fall apart! My boyfriend almost broke it in half while trying to carry it up the stairs because it is so flimsy and cheaply made. The owner was so rude and disrespectful on the phone and told me the rust on the chair was from wherever it was stored after being delivered. Oh yeah so after being wrapped in plastic and sitting in my grandparents family room for 2 weeks it got surface rust all over it?

I don't think so. We went down to the shop to discuss things in person with the owner. As soon as we opened the back end of my car and started pointing out the issues mentioned he went right back to being defensive and blaming the rust on us. This store owner even claims that these desks he makes are so expensive to make out of "solid birch wood" that they don't even make a profit off of them and can't make them anymore.

He ending up getting so mad he shooed us off and said take it and walked away back into his store. I am livid! He ripped off my grandmother and then got defensive because we pointed out the obvious flaws in his "craftsmanship". Take our advice and stay far away from Cheap Vintage. They sell nothing but junk for outrageous prices! Expensive Crap would be a better name for the store!

A large selection of vintage furniture, glassware, dishes, jewelry, clothing, artwork, nick-nacks, collectables, books and just about anything you can think of! Have plenty of time because you'll want to browse the many cases, and wander around the furniture. There's something for everyone!

I received great serve from the time I walked in. Sherree was very helpful and I found a beautiful crystal lamp and a unique dresser. Once I purchased my items Russ & Steve followed me home to deliver my dresser, even in the pouring rain. That is what I call serve. It feels good to support a small business. I would highly recommend going in to check out their store; there is a lot to see.

Hidden gem! So I had been looking (mostly online) for some mid century modern furniture and found a great set here. So excited! We met with Cherie (Sheree Sherry? Sorry not sure of the spelling) on New Year's Eve Day, even though they were closed she still opened up the shop. So sweet. The place is a treasure trove. Tons of cool stuff. Felt like American Pickers. We bought the set and will be back for sure. Thank you! Support local.

Great vintage stuff. If you use your imagination you can decorate a whole house with good fornitures and pieces of decoration for good price. The lady who works at the store is very friendly and helpful.

Called ahead to ask if they had a specific item. the lady on the phone said, 'OH YES we've got lots!' got there and they were scrambling to find any of my requested items, had to dig through a lot of junk to come up with. just junk. she kept trying to sell it like they were fabulous, even the single ones. um, how do you buy a SINGLE cufflink? i obvsly wasn't buying it. kept me there for a few minutes more looking through dingy drawers of tiny jewelry boxes. it really was a small collection of crap. literally, they had 5 pairs and a whole bunch of singles and random ass jewelry parts. tried to make the most of it by looking around to see if there was something else, anything, buyable to make the trip worth it. nothing.

And definitely things were not priced cheap either, for what they were / condition they were in. they were really really nice people but I didn't enjoy having my time wasted.

Came here to find a dresser, everything is nice but all over $200. Way out of my budget. For a thrift shop, it's not very thrifty.

This place houses so much history. Needs a little bit of organizing but the atmosphere is truly a treasure hunt experience! Russ was very helpful and gave me a great deal on a Schwinn Stationary Bike. I will definitely be back for more!

I am giving one star because the owner is pleasant. I have owned a consignment store in the northeast and I will say that this is the most overpriced place I have seen in awhile. They have junk they try to pass off as valuable. Most of it needs major restoration. There are no prices so I guess they just ask what they feel like asking. There is stuff thrown outside in the back open to the elements.

I asked about one piece in particular because I know what it should go for. He quoted me $600.00 for a piece worth $150. Do yourself a favor and check out the salvation army or goodwill first.

Unfortunately this place ended up being a disappointing experience for me. The owners seem nice but are unprofessional and unorganized. They kept forgetting who I was making me feel unimportant to their business. One of the owners Sherry quoted me a price on a custom built shelf. Then two days later after speaking with her husband Russ she upped the price on me. However, like an idiot, I decided to get the shelf anyway.

After the shelf was built, they decided to spray paint it without my knowledge. When I saw what they had done to it I was mortified. I don't understand why they did this. I believe it was to save on the cost of staining it like I had asked. Luckily I got my money back but Russ was very upset about it. He told me I should just go to IKEA. Also you will notice that none of their prices are marked. It seems that they charge you based on how much they think you can afford. Cheap is not so "cheap" when it comes to the prices. Cheap work? Yes.

I had been here a couple of times before and saw some neat stuff. So when it was time to buy new dressers, I came here. Found a new design I had not seen, loved it and had it made in the white wash pine. Eleven! drawers, what a beauty. Also purchased a tall slim 6-drawer chest in white wash. Second beauty! Not cheap but they were what I wanted and basically competitively priced for special made.

And the furniture has a bit of a funky aspect to it. You can tell it is not machine made. Only one thing I want to stress.if you buy anything here made with drawers in it, don't mix up the drawers because you'll be trying to find where they fit for a while! I did that and it took me about 45 min. getting them in the right slots. Like a giant Rubik's cube.

The drawers are not interchangable and each has it's own specific spot! YIKES. Russ and Sheeree are so nice, too. They run business the old-fashioned way.customer service with a smile.

What an amazing find! Here I was doing my saturday routine of thrift store shopping when I stumbled upon cheap vintage. The very first thing you notice is how friendly and accommodating the owners are. They were eager to help and knowledgeable about the inventory they keep in their shop. and might I add, if they don't have what you are looking for here, they informed me that they have another location in San Pedro chock full of more vintage treats!

They are more than happy to hear that you are trying to weed the IKEA out of your life, and graduate to classically designed, solid real wood pieces. Ummm. Hello! Particle board vs. Oak or Cedar? You decide. ***I also remember them mentioning that they build their own furniture pieces as well. I ended up traveling to San Pedro later that day out of curiosity and was additionally impressed with that shop. (The woman who works there is an absolute DOLL!

Make sure you keep your eyes out for the kitty cats too) It was much bigger than the lomita store, had a great collection of clothing and jewelry and far more pieces of furniture. I purchased a stunning cream colored french sofa and could not be happier! Will absolutely return and see what new treasures I can discover.

PROS : exceptional customer service; friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable, too! large selection of vintage/new/used/refurbished furniture great selection of all wood furniture they deliver to your door (within reason, of course!) custom painted furniture moderately priced CONS : the place is packed so you'll have to really dig around not kid friendly (lots of breakables and no room/aisles for a stroller) OVERALL : The husband, little monster and I randomly stopped by today and we were greeted warmly by Sherree.

She showed us around and answered all of our questions. We were very impressed with the store. The store has such a variety of treasures! From clothes, to art, to collectibles, and decor. You'll find lots of great furniture pieces here as well. If you're looking for solid wood, this is the place to go. It has a nice mix of vintage, antique and shabby chic.

They custom paint and fix furniture, too. We ended up buying a set of Adirondack chairs, a matching table, a vase, and a wooden barrel all for a very reasonable price! What's more, Russ delivered everything to our door for $30 the same day (within an hour after leaving their store actually). We've been to their San Pedro store as it's closer to us, but this location by far is the better store to go to. And we will definitely be back!

I happened to drive past this store after leaving the Lomita Railroad Museum down the street. If I see furniture out in front of a shop displaying a sign that reads "Cheap", my car stops automatically.screeeech. Well. Proprietor Sherree gave me the grand tour as I photographed everything in sight. I love cool vintage stuff & obviously, so does she. There's so much to see in this large space that it's overwhelming.

My "find" of the day was the green metal 60's magazine stand that I bought for 40 bucks, although I could easily have spent a whole lot more money in this place. If you can't find a furniture piece that fits in the space that you have, Cheap will custom-build it for you (most custom pieces are in the $300 range). Or.you could check out their second location in San Pedro.

This store is great fun! It's like a combo yard sale, estate sale, thrift shop, and antique store. The energetic owners, Russ & Sherree, are friendly, outgoing, and passionate about vintage. Cheap is open 9-5 Monday thru Saturday, Sundays by appointment. I'll be back.

Sherry and Russ are very kind and hard working, and their vintage goods are always really cool, you can find a lot of great bargains and interesting antiques at their shop. I am really happy today as they delivered my custom made handcrafted 7 feet high chest of drawers that is beautifully stained, too. They make these items per their customer's specifications. There is also a Cheap store in San Pedro, which is equally fun.

This place is the ultimate, especially in our day and age of disposable IKEA furniture! Plus you are being green if you buy used, which is cool these days I hear.;) In any case, they basically buy lots of furniture from estates or closing businesses, so they have a wide variety of stuff. It's always changing so if you keep checking back every so often, you can find some pretty cool things here.

The owner is super nice and helpful, and is a no pressure kind of person. If you buy more stuff you can sometimes get a small break on the price too, especially if you bring greenbacks. (notice the green theme here? hah I'm cracking myself up!) They can deliver for a nominal fee if you don't have a van or truck, so this really is a good deal in every way possible.

Well made older furniture is easily in the hundreds or over a thousand, and you can get it here for C-H-E-A-P-! I bought the major desks and stuff for my office for like 400, these would easily have been over 2000 if they were new. My real oak desk alone would have cost a fortune. I HIGHLY recommend this place, check it out, you won't be disappointed.
