Brook Furniture Rental

Based on other reviews, I had high expectations of Brook Furniture. Unfortunately this company does not seem to care about customers Or the people working here must not love their jobs which was clearly reflected in their service (or lack of). First, they messed up the order by not delivering everything we ordered. We ordered two computer desks and they delivered only one.

We ordered vaccum cleaner but none was delivered etc. I was told that the delivery would be done on Wednesday but the furniture was delivered on Thursday. Not a show-stopper but this gets worse. The selection of furniture was not well thought of. The furniture looked like someone randomly picked the furniture without considering that some of the items will go in the same room.

The quality of furniture was very poor. There were dents on furniture, scratches of TVs. The bedroom sets were the worst of the lot. We ordered two queens but they sent a king set which would not be a good fit for the room. The mattresses were filthy, stained and all I felt was the innerspring and no cushion at all. We promptly sent the mattresses back as I could not stand the sight of it. Overall, one of the worst experiences. I would give it a one star if not for the nice delivery team who were very considerate and apologetic for someone else's mistakes.

I just received my furniture rental packet and a great idea to get samples and ideas a great way to get different ideas to stage homes and club houses and only 2 day s notice of delivery all sorts of reading information on a nice Friday. And hashtag #brookcan

AVOID BROOK FURNITURE. The furniture was damaged and clearly repaired multiple times. When I watched the delivery guys taking the furniture back out banging it against the back stairs dropping it, ect I could tell why. Also there contract is very deceptive and I have filled a BBB complaint (its surprising that they have a C rating with the BBB as they have never responded to a single BBB complaint they deserve an F), as well as a complaint with the attorney generals office.

See the details below of my complaint: According to the contract with Brook Furniture my Lease term is for 3 months starting on 09/28/15 through 12/27/15 It says on page one of the contract that there is a base rent of $612 with an asterisk next to it. Underneath the box there is the asterisk box that states : *THIS LEASE HAS A MINIMUM BASE RENT OF $365 IN THE EVENT LEASED ITEMS ARE REFUSED AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY OR RETURNED DURING THE LEASE TERM RESULTING IN A REDUCTION OF THE MONTHLY BASE RENT BELOW THE STATED MINIMUM AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT SHALL BE ADDED TO THE MONTHLY INVOICE FOR EACH AFFECTED BILLING CYCLE TO BRING THE BASE RENT, FOR THE APPLICABLE MONTH, UP TO THE MINIMUM BASE RENT.

All of this is outlined on page 1. When I returned the furniture on 11/16/2015. I called in on 11/17/2015 and spoke with Danielle and her manager in regards to my final account billing. I was told that I would have to pay the full $667 (with tax) for month 2 even though I returned the furniture ahead and the full $667 for month 3 regardless of what the asterisk box states because what that meant was after the lease term not during the lease term.

I spoke with the manager and stated the contract CLEARLY states DURING the LEASE TERM which is outlined on page 1. He referred me to page 3 which states if the furniture is returned during the initial lease term the full amount of the lease will be due. Even though the page that I signed and where the financial details of the transaction clearly states otherwise. It's pretty clear why Brook Furniture can get furniture to you quickly, because there service is terrible and they rip people off, I will never use them again.

Brooks gave us just what we wanted and needed, and made the process of getting it very easy. We had agreed to host relatives coming for our daughter's wedding, in an apartment we own. The apartment is unfurnished so we needed beds and enough other furniture to make their stay comfortable - and we wanted to get it at a reasonable price. Our real estate agent recommended that we contact Brooks.

Excellent recommendation! Erin was very responsive and helpful. She visited the apartment and made suggestions about the the type and amount of furniture what would work best in the space and look great. The price was reasonable. The furniture looked great. It was delivered and picked up on time by a crew that was very neat and careful. We were very pleased with the quality and service we received from Brooks!

I can't say enough great things about Brook Furniture. Their staff is amazing, their furniture changes the entire feel of an apartment, and they are there to assist in a pinch. I truly appreciate partnering with them as my firm continues to set up corporate apartments throughout Chicago and the suburbs. We highly recommend them for any temporary furniture rental or staging needs.

I recently moved to Chicago for the summer to be with some of my relatives. I decided to rent a place as well as some furniture for the time being. I called into their Chicago office and scheduled a time with them to come in and pick out furniture for my apartment. Chrissy, in the showroom, was very helpful! I told her what building I was moving into and she was very knowledgeable about the floor plans and pointed me in the direction of what furniture would work in my studio apartment.

I was very pleased with the whole process. The delivery team was polite and very detailed. Not to mention, everything looked great and fit perfectly! It was a seamless process from start to finish! I highly recommend Brook Furniture Rental!

I had very high expectations of Brook Furniture. I am trying to sell my condo from a far and trusted the staff to make my place look and feel like home. When my real estate agent walked in, she called immediately because the furniture did not fit, the rugs were all the wrong sizes, the art was hung upside down, items did not match the paint and there were no "loving touches." She brought in several things from her home. Brook came out and did a few fixes but not enough.

Other agents commented on the furniture doing an injustice to the condo. I found rental companies for a fraction of the price that are going above and beyond. In the meantime, I called to cancel service and arrange pick up. The customer service rep was so rude that I felt compelled to warn others. It was a very unpleasant and expensive experience for me.

I can't say enough good things about Erin and the team at Brook. Very high-quality, customer-focused and the process is so efficient and streamlined. The family renting my condo moved out at the end of March, and with two kids and LOTS of stuff, it wasn't going to be photograph-worthy to list the condo for sale. I had planned to photograph and show it empty but was advised to look into a rental/staging company.

I contacted Brook on Thursday and on Saturday met with Erin at the condo to conceptualize the layout. By Monday she had the quote and contract to me, and the furniture was moved in a few days later. The place looked beautiful (way better than when we actually lived there) and I believe it was a major help in getting the condo sold. They required a minimum 3-month rental, and my total cost was around $2,500. I believe we definitely recouped that in the sale, at the very least.

I cannot say enough how AWESOME Brook Furniture is! I've worked with Erin M. for the past few years to help my clients who are in need of rental furniture. She has always been very friendly, responsive, and makes the moving process a breeze for my clients. Not only are they a pleasure to work with but they also have a great product. I am a realtor and had a vacant condo to sell in the South Loop. I reached out to a couple companies and had them come to give quotes. Erin from Brook was prompt and professional from the very beginning. She came to the unit in person and made recommendations on what type of furniture would suit the unit best. She also advised on a good paint color.

She then worked up a very competitive quote and was more accommodating than the competition when it came to getting the furniture into the unit on our tight timeline. We ended up using Erin at Brook and we were thrilled we did. The property looked amazing and sold to the first buyer who toured for $10,000 over the list price. We truly couldn't have been more happy with our experience working with Erin and the team at Brook. I highly recommend using them for any furniture staging needs!

Working with Brook was great. I use multiple furniture rental companies around the country for short-term stays and Brook had some of the best furniture, service, and convenience. BE AWARE that Brook charges for full months only even if you give 30 days notice of pickup. I've never seen any other furniture company or apartment put this in their contract.

After we moved, we called to get the rest of our monthly payment returned and they said we wouldn't get anything. I reread the contract and sure enough, it was in there. This means if you move anytime before the last of the month, you're going to lose money. We were lucky enough to be moving a couple days before the end of the month and only lost a small amount.

I rented from Brook when I needed an apartment furnished for a short-term stay in Chicago. The customer service was prompt and helpful in getting everything set up. I was told that some of the items I had requested were not in stock, and that we would be given similar replacement items instead. Figuring that instead of a beige couch, I would get one in a similar neutral tone, or at least a plain color, I was shocked to find a flowered multicolored chenille couch arrive in its place. When I asked for a discount on the couch due to its wildly divergent replacement, I was repeatedly ignored and not even given a response.

Top notch professionalism at Brook on LaSalle! Kim, Chrissy and Courtney were able to help my family quickly and smoothly navigate a difficult, time-sensitive situation when we were in need of temporary housing between homes. The furniture, delivery and set up all exceeded our expectations. They even included items in our kitchen and bath packs we'd forgotten we'd need - talk about life savers! I'm recommending them the company I work for downtown and would recommend them to any friend or family member in need. They're eager to please. Thanks Kim and the gang!
